Achievement

Water Baby

I just wanted to "blow my own trumpet" and tell everyone that I passed my free diving course recently. I travelled down to Gosport for a two-day course in the S.E.T.T. Tank on the Military base.

My pass was without doubt definitely thanks to the hard work put in by the instructors Alexis and David, a little pep talk on the final day by Emma Farrell who is an amazing free diver and, last but not least, my husband John. Who managed to calm me down and get me to focus on holding my breath, remaining calm and having faith in me. Plus I didn't want to let him down as he'd bought me a dive computer specially. Bless him.

To pass the course you had to take an exam (which I'm rubbish at) and perform a rescue from 5m.

I achieved a breath hold of 1 minute 6 seconds and dived to 10.5m which, believe me, wasn't easy for a first timer !!

Now the hard work starts improving on the personal best.

Company Brochure

.....Coming Soon

Thanks to the hard work of Little Black Dog design company I will soon have more detailed company information on the services I can provide.

Until now I have relied on people obtaining information from my website but, after several requests for physical, rather than electronic information the Ocean Secretarial corporate brochure will be born.

This will also be available to download from the website in pdf format.

I hope you like the attached taster of what the finished product will look like.

News update from Ocean Secretarial

Welcome to my weekly blog.

For those of you who are not yet familiar with my business I hope you will find the next few paragraphs both helpful and informative.

Ocean Secretarial provides a bespoke, on-line typing and secretarial service tailored to the requirements of individuals and businesses . No job is too big or too small and you only pay for the services when you need them.

By outsourcing some of your administrative needs, to Ocean, it can relieve you of the paperwork, time, and expense of equipping and running your own office, allowing you to achieve your goals. Everything is possible, with a little help from your friendly Virtual Assistant.

I am a fully qualified Personal Assistant with more than 20 years experience working at Board Director level. I'm not an agency temp, I am an independent professional and decided to offer my secretarial expertise to a wider audience after helping out a number of friends and contacts with their typing and administrative tasks, realising that there was a real need for a virtual assistant/secretary. As the internet is such a powerful means of communication it enables me to offer remote administrative assistance to any organisation or small business.

Because I am not tied to normal office times, I can offer flexible working hours to suit and am happy to undertake one-off as well as regular assignments, providing flexible administrative support via e-mail or internet, telephone, fax and post.

During my working life I have learnt how to organise myself and more importantly others around me. I have learnt how to keep people happy and look on every job as an opportunity. You won't feel like “just another client”.

I can provide tailored office support at a fraction of the cost of employing a permanent member of staff and my livelihood and success depends on the absolute satisfaction of my clients.

I have a comprehensive range of skills gained from working in a wide range of industries. With a wealth of experience in specialist fields such as writing, subbing, presenting and administration.
Some of my qualifications are:
  • Audio Typing (RSA I, II and III).
  • Shorthand (Pitman - 90 wpm).
  • Typewriting (RSA I, II, III).
  • Word Processing (RSA III).
  • Proficient (Advanced certificated) in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher, Access, and Word.
  • MOUS (Microsoft Office User Specialist) certified as a Word Expert level user.
  • Proficient user of the Internet and e-mail.

What do I do and how do I work?
Well, however you want me to, but I've detailed below some of the services available:-

  • Word processing – General Correspondence
  • Audio Transcription Services
  • PA & General Administration
  • Typing of Manuscripts, Terms & Conditions, Dissertations, Speeches, etc.

Please feel free to view my website at www.oceansecretarial.com or contact me for more information via the contacts page.

Another newcomer

Well, I've done it. I've signed up to the world of blogging. I can already hear my partner saying "...and when will you find time for that?" A valid question as I'm currently working about 17 hours a day balancing my full-time job as an Editor's PA with that of my online-secretarial business and trying to get my handmade card business off the ground - which is going quite well I might add - and have a social life.

There's never a dull moment - I don't have time for one !

I'm off now to customise my newly purchased template so you can learn a little more about me, my jobs and personal life.

Back soon.
